Drs. Greg Boxberger, MD, and Mark Bowles, MD, Join Kansas Physician Group

WICHITA – The 99-bed Wesley Woodlawn Hospital & ER is expanding its service footprint with the recent acquisition of an additional 22,000 square feet of medical and office space on the west side of the hospital that was previously used to house the former Galichia Medial Group offices.

“Wesley Woodlawn over the past three years has been undergoing a time of significant transformation and growth,” said Tripp Owings, Wesley Woodlawn CEO. “It is really exciting to address our growth needs not only for our patients, but for our staff and management team as well.”

The space will be used to expand or create much-needed office space for various service lines and unit managers and add another hospital conference room. The hospital also plans to additional services such as nuclear medicine and stress testing, and expand outpatient echo capabilities.

Kansas Physician Group, a seven-physician medical practice that is part of HCA’s Physician Services Group, will continue to sublease about 11,000 square feet. Two physicians, Drs. Greg Boxberger, MD, and Mark Bowles, MD – both longtime Wesley Woodlawn interventional cardiologists – have joined Kansas Physician Group and will continue practicing at Woodlawn.

The new building space and current $620,000 corridor construction project joins an impressive list of growth opportunities over the past few years at Woodlawn. In April, the hospital completed a $1.1 million EP lab renovation that included the latest image-guided machine for cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures in the hospital. In 2017, the hospital completed a $700,000 ICU expansion that increased the unit from eight to 12 beds. Wesley Woodlawn also saw the completion of a brand new $35,000 imaging waiting room last year on the east side of the hospital, which allows patients easy access to imaging services.
