Project Pinball Charity Group and Stern Pinball team up to gift a Spider-Man Vault Edition pinball machine to Wesley Children’s Hospital.
WICHITA – Just in time for summer, the Project Pinball Charity dedicated a Spider-Man Vault Edition pinball machine to Wesley Children’s Hospital this morning, the region’s first and only dedicated hospital designed, built and equipped exclusively for Kansas children.
“Our patients and families often face many challenges during their hospital stay and we know laughter can sometimes be the best medicine,” said Angi Gragg, Wesley Children’s Hospital director of pediatrics. “We hope it will bring smiles and laughs and get more children out of their beds to play.”
Built by Stern Pinball and initially given to Project Pinball Charity, this top-of-the-line pinball machine was donated to the children’s hospital to offer therapeutic relief for patients. Pinball machines have shown to motivate young patients to get back on their feet while also providing family members and the support staff some respite and entertainment.
“When Project Pinball first heard about Wesley Children’s Hospital we were really impressed with how they have a special way to help kids and families, and we wanted to do something special for them so in turn they could keep doing amazing things for others,” said Daniel Spolar, Project Pinball Charity’s founder. “This is the first time we have placed a pinball machine in Kansas and we are super excited. We are thankful for this opportunity to do such impactful things with pinball.”
Project Pinball provides all the equipment, parts, supplies and regular maintenance at no cost to the hospital. As of today, Project Pinball will have placed 28 pinball machines throughout the United States in Children’s hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses.
Project Pinball Charity Group, Inc. is dedicated to providing recreational relief to all patients and their families as well as the physicians and nurses who care for them at their local children’s hospitals. A pinball machine is a powerful tool that offers therapeutic benefits that fit perfectly with the dynamics of a hospital environment. It helps keep patients active and mobile while also providing entertainment. Project Pinball provides all the equipment, parts, supplies and regular maintenance at no cost to the hospital. With each visit and testimony, we are realizing the power one pinball machine can have when placed in the right setting. Learn more about Project Pinball Charity on their website.
