Baby Your Baby Fair

Look Good, Feel Better Workshop

Wesley Medical Center and The American Cancer Society will host a free Look Good...Feel Better® workshop Monday, April 6, 6:30 – 8:30pmat Wesley Medical Center, 550 N. Hillside. The program teaches beauty techniques to female patients in active treatment to help them combat the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. Pre-registration is required by calling Wesley Guest Services at 316.962.2100.

Knee and Hip Replacement Seminar

Tuesday, Mar. 3, 2-3:00pm, Wesley Medical Center, Cessna Conference Room; hospital staff will explain what to expect during and after knee and hip surgery. Free of charge. To register, call 316.962.6000.

Family Life Education Classes

Classes are held at the following locations: Wesley BirthCare Center at the northeast corner of Hillside and Murdock streets; Wesley West Emergency and Diagnostic Center at 8714 W. 13th St.; and Koch Learning Center at Wesley Medical Center, 550 N.   • “Babysitting for Beginners”: a single one-day class for youth ages 11-15 to learn to care for children of all ages, CPR training is included

  • “Big Kids and Babies”: one 90-minute session of activities for children ages 3-6 to help prepare them to welcome a new baby, tour included

  • “Breastfeeding”: two two-hour classes or one three-hour class to learn the advantages of breastfeeding

  • “Calming Your Baby”: one two-hour class on how to identify your baby’s needs to ease pressure and stress

  • Car Seat Checks: your infant or child’s car seat will be checked for safety and proper installation by Wesley’s certified car seat specialists. Call 962-2105 for dates, times and location of car seat checks.
  • “Caring for Your Baby”: two two-hour classes or one three-hour class providing information about bathing, diapering, feeding, safety, child development, health and other practical information

    • Friday, Apr. 24, 11:30am to 1pm for $8, Central Community Church, 6100 West Maple St.; Dr. Melissa Hague will present a frank and lively conversation about romance and intimacy issues in the wiser years. Women are living longer than ever before. It used to be that much of the joy of life was about over at menopause, but now it is just the beginning!
