Preoperative class for joint replacement surgery

Wesley Medical Center is committed to keeping our joint replacement patients informed, educated and supported every step of the way. We offer a preoperative class to help make you feel more comfortable with the surgical and recovery processes. You should attend the preoperative class several weeks or days before surgery.

The preoperative class covers:

  • What happens during surgery
  • How to prepare for surgery
  • Arrival on surgery day and discharge
  • What to expect as you recover
  • Exercises and rehabilitation with our physical and occupational therapists

The class occurs on the second Tuesday of the month from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the conference room at Wesley Birth Care Suites, 3222 E. Murdock St. The class is also available on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Cessna Conference Room at Wesley Medical Center.

If you plan to come to a class, please RSVP by calling (316) 962-2730.

If you can’t make it to a class, we also offer a preoperative PowerPoint presentation you can watch anytime, anywhere. Request our Education Guide for more information.
