The Wesley Children's Pediatric Surgery Department provides a broad range of individualized surgical procedures – from the more routine surgeries to the most complex surgical procedures. The high degree of specialization allows for accurate diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.
Our pediatric surgeons include Kim Molik, MD, and Mark Saxton, MD, who are both board certified in pediatric surgery. Molik is the medical director of the Wesley Children’s Hospital trauma center, the only certified pediatric trauma center in the region, as well as medical director of Wesley Children’s Hospital’s pediatric surgery services. Saxton has provided care across the United States and is frequently contacted to provide expert second opinions regarding treatment options. He also specializes in the surgical treatment of pectus excavatum, more commonly known as Sunken Chest.
Wesley’s pediatric surgery clinic is an outpatient clinic located on the fifth floor of the Medical Arts Tower, located at 3243 E. Murdock, on the Wesley campus.
The clinic is staffed by board-certified pediatric surgeons. These surgeons work closely with our board-certified pediatric radiologists and pediatric anesthesiologists at Wesley Medical Center to provide the best pediatric surgery care. The clinic staff also includes a registered nurse, and a physician’s assistant.
Our staff have years of experience working with children and are sensitive to the emotional needs of children of all ages.
A physicians’ referral is needed to make an appointment at the clinic. Children are referred to the clinic to determine whether or not they need surgery, to examine them in preparation for surgery, or to receive follow-up care after they have had surgery.
The clinic is open Tuesdays and Thursdays. To make an appointment, call (316) 962-2085.
