Wesley Children's Hospital
550 N. Hillside St, Wichita, KS 67214
Wesley Healthcare is expanding its children’s services and renovating its current pediatric areas with the construction of the region’s first and only hospital just for kids – Wesley Children’s Hospital.
Wesley Children’s Hospital provides expert pediatric care for children from infancy through the teenage years, and it offers state-of-the-art technology and a family-centered healing environment where children and their families receive the best care possible, close to home.
Wesley Children’s has a robust array of pediatric services, physicians and technologies, including a pediatric unit staffed by pediatric hospitalists, a pediatric intensive care unit staffed by pediatric intensivists, the region’s only pediatric ER and trauma center staffed by pediatric emergency physicians and trauma surgeons, and a neonatal intensive care unit for sick and premature newborns.
Our pediatric expertise extends outside the walls of the hospital as well, with outpatient services available through the Pediatric Center of Kansas, a collaboration with the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita, KU Wichita Pediatrics and a host of independent physicians that provides a wide variety of primary care and pediatric subspecialty services. Wesley Children’s also has the region’s only pediatric surgery clinic and a nearby Ronald McDonald House where parents of hospitalized children can stay overnight.
Pediatric subspecialty care is available in a wide variety of disciplines, including neonatology, surgery, intensive care, oncology, infectious diseases, allergy/immunology, radiology, endocrinology, neurology, cardiology, pulmonology, urology, orthopedics, anesthesia and child development. Subspecialty physicians are joined by other experienced staff including child development therapists, pediatric respiratory therapists, pediatric nurses, child-life specialists, dietitians, care coordinators, pharmacists and chaplains to provide the most expert, compassionate care possible. Our staff is specially trained to meet the physical – and emotional – needs of young patients and their families. Child-life specialists focus on helping children of all ages feel more comfortable during their hospital stay.
Parents are encouraged to talk to our staff about any questions concerning their children's hospitalization. We also provide education programs to help parents understand and provide for their children's healthcare needs. Call (316) 962-KIDS to speak with a Wesley Children’s child life specialist for more information or to access our after-hours pediatric help line.
