WICHITA – Wesley Medical Center has named Joyce Eby its new case management director.
“We are excited to promote Joyce to this new role,” said Matt Leary, Wesley’s chief financial officer. “She brings more than 15 years of case management experience to the position, and she will be a great resource for our case managers.”
Case management nurses and social workers help patients transition through the continuum of hospital care and assist with discharge planning activities as well as ensure reimbursement for care provided.
Joyce began her career with Wesley in 1980 working as a nurse in its special care unit. She transferred in 1997 to Wesley’s case management department to work as a care coordinator. She was promoted to department manager in 2009 and was serving as interim director when she was offered the position of director.
“I am very excited about this new opportunity,” Eby said. “The hospital has been home to me for most of my career, and it has blessed me with so many opportunities to grow and develop as a professional leader in the healthcare field.”
Eby graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and also has earned a bachelor’s of arts degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.
Joyce began her new position with Wesley in August.
