WICHITA – Wesley Medical Center has promoted Cheryl Donelan to market director of cardiovascular services. She will oversee all cardiovascular services, cath labs and electrophysiology labs at all campuses, including Wesley’s Heart Valve Clinic and structural heart program.

“Heart care is an increasingly complex endeavor, and we needed a leader who could ensure our services remain world-class for patients and physicians alike,” said Steve Edgar, CEO of Wesley’s Galichia Heart Hospital. “Cheryl is a veteran of cardiovascular programs in Wichita, and we are fortunate to have her expertise in this new position.”

Donelan began her career in health care in 1980 working as a staff nurse at Harper Hospital in Harper, Kansas. Since then, she has served in a variety of roles from a clinical instructor to directing a cardiology service line. She most recently served as Galichia’s manager of quality and infection prevention.

She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Wichita State University, where she also earned master’s degrees in nursing and business administration. She is also a graduate of the Wesley School of Nursing.

“I am very excited to be joining our amazing cardiology services team,” Donelan said. “I’m looking forward to building an even stronger cardiovascular program and expanding the services we are currently providing at our heart valve clinic.”

Donelan is active in the Wichita community, volunteering for the American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Warming Souls Homeless Shelter.

Cheryl began her new position in March.
