Kids don’t come with instructions

Free Baby Fair can give you some tips

Having a new baby is a joyous occasion — that can sometimes be overwhelming. New parents, and even experienced parents, find there’s much to learn. They have to deal with everything from diapers to car seats, from nutrition to child care, from sleepless nights to tantrums.

That’s why Wesley Medical Center is sponsoring “Baby Your Baby,” a free health and education fair for parents and parents-to-be, on Aug. 28.

The fair will offer condensed versions of several Wesley parenting classes, including:

  • Infant Massage
  • Breastfeeding
  • Safe Sleep
  • Caring for Your Baby

A child life specialist will demonstrate toys and games that encourage child development. Experts will explain effective ways to guide your child’s behavior. Wesley’s car seat specialists will even check out your child’s car seat  for free to make sure it meets safety requirements.

Do you have questions about your child’s health or development? Specialists will be available to answer your questions and guide you toward helpful resources.  You can learn more about local children’s services and how to locate and assess day-care providers.

Plus, there will be prize drawings, and the winner of Clear Channel Radio’s “Cutest Baby Contest” will be announced.

Every mom and dad wants to be the best parent possible. Give yourself a head start by learning all you can at Wesley’s Baby Your Baby Fair.
