Reducing Your Risk of Shingles

A shingles vaccine called Zostavax, is recommended for the prevention of shingles in people aged 60 years and older. Talk to your doctor about this vaccine.

Widespread immunization of children with the chickenpox vaccine started in the 1980s may greatly decrease the chances of them developing shingles later in life.
