WICHITA, Kansas – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas will be awarding Wesley Medical Center a Blue Distinction Center+® designation for quality, efficiency for its Total Joint Knee & Hip Replacement Program and its Spine Program at a special ceremony, Thursday, April 4 at 10:00 am at Wesley’s Cessna Conference Room.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Director of Institutional Relations, Angie Strecker will be presenting the awards to Wesley’s Director Rehabilitation Services, Steve Wilgers and Clinical Nurse Specialist/Total Joint Replacement Program Coordinator, Paula Hopkins.
The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care program, which began in2006, expanded recently to include new cost-efficiency measures, as well as more robust quality measures focused on improved patient health and safety. Wesley was one of six hospitals in Kansas’ 103-county service care to successfully achieve this designation.
