WICHITA – Wesley Medical Center has named Beth Eagleton its new director of nursing excellence.
“We are excited to promote Beth to this new role,” said Nikki Freeman, Wesley’s vice president of human resources and employee health. “She brings more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience to this new position, and she will be a great resource for our nurses.”
In this role, Eagleton coordinates the hospital’s service excellence, customer satisfaction and nursing shared governance and practice initiatives. She also oversees the staff development department, which provides continuing education and training to the hospital’s clinical staff.
Eagleton began her career with Wesley in the late 1980’s, serving for 18 years in a variety of roles from teaching at the Wesley School of Nursing to HCA Midwest case management division director. She then went on to work for several healthcare organizations as a chief nursing officer. Her most recent position was as a vice president of interim leadership services for B.E. Smith. Beth came back to Wesley in 2012 to serve as its director of advanced clinicals.
“I was so excited to return back to Wesley,” Eagleton said. “The hospital has been home to me for much of my career and blessed me with so many opportunities to grow and develop as a professional leader in the healthcare field.”
Beth graduated from Wichita State University with a master’s degree in nursing and received her Ph.D. in adult and continuing education from Kansas State University.
Eagleton began her new position with Wesley this summer.
