WICHITA –Wesley Healthcare has named Brian Swallow its new vice president of surgical services. Swallow will lead the system’s surgical quality, service and growth initiatives.

 

“Brian is a patient advocate, and he has a track record of working hard to establish meaningful relationships with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the entire surgical team,” said Bill Voloch, Wesley Healthcare president and CEO.

 

Swallow joined Wesley from Via Christi Health, where he has served as a director of surgical services since 2002. He began as a staff nurse at St. Francis Hospital in 1994, and he also has surgical management experience at Dixie Regional Medical Center in Utah.

 

“I’m looking forward to continuing my leadership career at Wesley,” Swallow said. “It’s an amazing opportunity, and I’m impressed with its constant efforts to push the benchmark higher and higher in quality care and service.”

 

Swallow graduated from Butler County Community College with an associate degree of nursing, and he received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southwestern College. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in hospital administration from Southwestern College.

 

“We look forward to Brian’s leadership as he helps develop and steer our robust surgical services at both our main Wesley Medical Center campus and at Wesley Woodlawn Hospital & ER,” Voloch said.

 

Wesley Healthcare has four da Vinci robotic surgical systems, including the region’s only da Vinci Xi. Wesley Woodlawn has also recently launched its new bariatric surgery center.
