Wesley Medical Center March 22, 2017

WICHITA – Wesley Healthcare has named Scott Barnett its new market director of cardiovascular services. He will oversee all cardiovascular services, cath labs and electrophysiology labs at all campuses, including Wesley’s Heart Valve Clinic and structural heart program.

“Heart care is an increasingly complex endeavor, and we needed a leader who could ensure our services remain world-class for patients and physicians alike,” said Tripp Owings, CEO of Wesley Woodlawn Hospital & ER. “We are excited about the experience and expertise Scott brings to this position as we work to expand the cardiovascular services that we offer to our community.”

Barnett began his career in health care in 2002 working as a pharmaceutical sales representative at Schering-Plough. Since then he has served in a variety of physician relations roles from outreach manager to surgery specialist for the Wichita market. He most recently served as HCA’s Continental Division Care Assure program director in Denver, Colorado.

He received his bachelor’s degree in business management from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, and his master’s degree in healthcare leadership from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.

“I enjoyed my time in Denver at the Division office, but I am really looking forward to getting back into the hospital setting,” Barnett said. “I have gained a lot of valuable experience working with the Care Assure program and I can’t wait to share them in my new role at Wesley.”

Barnett is an avid church volunteer. He and his wife, Annie, have two daughters.
